WHAT IS AMTACILMS?

• AMATCILMS is the Learning Management System (LMS) or digital classroom. Instructors use the LMS to post assignments, host quizzes, deliver lessons, manage discussions, give feedback, and post grades. Unlike the registration system, the payment system, and the student information system, AMTACILMS is focused only on teaching and learning.

CAN INSTRUCTORS SEE WHAT TRAINEES HAVE DONE IN THE AMTACILMS?

• Yes. AMTACILMS has a very robust logging system that tracks every time a user visits a page or clicks a link. It records when files are uploaded, when quizzes are taken, when students log in, and even when students view an item. Because the training center administers the system, we have access to all of those records. Students should expect that instructors can access records of everything they do in the AMTACILMS.

I CAN'T LOG IN TO THE AMTACILMS. WHAT DO I DO?

• AMTACILMS logins are managed by the training center distance learning system. Please contact the Altitude Maritime Training and Assessment Center, Inc. Help Desk for assistance with login problems.

I AM REGISTERED FOR A CLASS WITH THE REGISTRAR BUT THE COURSE IS NOT ON MY AMTACILMS PAGE. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

• Check the date. Distance learning courses open one week before classes begin and close one week after final exams.
• Contact your instructor. Some faculty hide their courses from students to prevent confusion. Any hidden courses will open as needed for the purpose of course evaluations.
• If necessary, your instructor will contact AMTACILMS administration to resolve the issue.

CAN I ACCESS MY OLD AMTACILMS COURSE FROM MY PREVIOUS TRAINING?

• Yes, but that requires the consent of the instructor. Altitude Maritime Training & Assessment Center maintains copies of all past distance learning courses.

WHO DO I CONTACT IF I HAVE TROUBLE WITH THE AMTACILMS?

• If the issue is in a particular course, contact your instructor. Most questions about AMTACILMS can be answered by the instructor that designed the course you are using.
• If you are having general trouble with AMTACILMS, contact the administrator, Altitude Maritime Training and Assessment Center, Inc. Help Desk.
• If you have a complaint about the institution-wide use of AMTACILMS you would like to make a complaint to an accrediting authority, please use the stcw@marina.gov.ph or pid_stcw@marina.gov.ph
